As a Performance Engineer within the Platform Engineering Team you will be testing the performance of the Agfa Enterprise Imaging Solution, including the full solution stack from the hardware up, as well as selected 3rd party integrations.

You will also develop and implement a suite of automated tests to ensure the proper functioning of the application under 'standard' and 'extreme' loads.

You will work with the broader R&D group to pinpoint where the solution fails to meet performance standards.

This position can be based in Canada (Eastern or Atlantic time), United States (Eastern time) or Belgium

Responsibilities

As a Performance Engineer your main responsibilities are:

  • Implementing and automating the Verification and Validation Plan according to the overall Platform Engineering process.
  • Create validation test suites and tools to ensure coverage of the solution under test.
  • Learn, adapt and develop tools used for data and load generation.
  • Analyze the results of test runs to ensure the stability of the performance of the solution from release to release.
  • Analyzing/debugging performance & stability issues.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain test infrastructure using automation.

Qualifications

  • You have a Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years' experience related to performance engineering and testing is required.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in and identifying, analysing, and troubleshooting software performance issues.
  • A demonstrated ability to collect and corelate diverse datasets, building a compelling analysis to support your conclusions.
  • Experience in performance monitoring tools and APM tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics etc is an asset.
  • Good experience in using profiling tools like Jprofiler, including GC / JVM analysis tools and heap/thread is an asset.
  • Knowledge of PACS/RIS, medical imaging and workflows is an asset.
  • IT-knowledge:
    • You are an expert in operating systems at admin level (Linux, Windows, Networking)
    • You have knowledge of databases and data storage.
    • You have knowledge of scripting and programming.
  • You are a problem solver, team player and focused on customer satisfaction.
  • You have good communication skills (written and oral).
  • You are a self-learner.
  • You have a good knowledge of English.
