Back in 1968, Robert Schmidt started a small business installing, sanding, and finishing wood floors.  He did it right!  That business, aided by the reputation of honesty and high quality work, has blossomed into Schmidt Custom Floors, Inc.  Schmidt Custom Floors currently supplies and installs almost anything you would ever want to walk on.  In our showrooms are creative vignettes of innumerable species and styles of wood floors, joined by carpeting, area rugs, tile, marble, stone, vinyl, cork, leather, bamboo, and laminate flooring.  All are on display, not only to show you what is available, but to inspire you with great design ideas to beautify your home.   Schmidt Custom Floors Commercial Division works with architects, interior designers, and general contractors on flooring needs for condos, apartments, restaurants, and malls, senior living, dance studios, etc.  The Sports Division specializes in wood or synthetic flooring for gymnasiums, weight rooms, exercise rooms and field houses.  Today, Robert Schmidt's children & grandchildren have expanded the business into something special.   With our experienced staff and craftsmen in these other floorings, we are confident we can continue to give you the best quality, design and flooring experience in southeastern Wisconsin.

Our Schmidt Hand-Crafted Collections offer custom old world hand-scraped wood.  Any specie of wood can be custom hand-scraped and textured. Also available are other factory prefinished sculpted flooring in both solid and engineered.  Let us create the perfect fit for you.

We invite you to browse our large hardwood showrooms which display numerous American wood species, and also exotic woods, bamboo, cork, and leather. Need to spice up an old floor? Come admire the laser cut designs of our medallions and borders to add just the right touch. We stock a variety of unfinished and factory pre-finished wood flooring. We special order reclaimed woods, parquet patterns, and specialty widths and lengths of woods from all around the world.

Don't forget your stairs! We can restore and refinish your existing treads and/or order new treads.  Consider the option to add custom hand-scraping to your treads as well!

We carry designer Feizy area rugs as well as funky Unique Carpets Ltd.,  Couristan, Shaw, and Glen Eden offer custom carved, colors and sizes in area rugs also.

Tile, Stone, Marble:
