JOB SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of electrical work in the manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical components, equipment, systems and machinery.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Accept, plan and complete assignments for repair or installation of electrical equipment, building systems and all plant production equipment.
- Install conduit, EMT, PVC, panel boards and all related fittings including controls for power, heat and light in accordance with Local and National code.
- Work from blueprint sketches and wiring diagrams, making diagrams if needed.
- Use and maintenance of all test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls.
- Assist engineering with design of new equipment controls, PLC controls, building electrical systems and power distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment program control problems through utilization of computer PLC interface, laptop computer or other MMI.
- Operate and maintain plant systems, including boilers and steam systems, air compressors, pumps and general facility support systems.
- Repair and maintain production machinery.
- Work from drawings, plans or sketches to fabricate fixtures, replacement parts and weld fabrications.
- Identify, troubleshoot and repair problems in electrical wiring and systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and upgrades to wiring, conduit and electronic control systems.
- Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems.
- Recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications of sequence of electrical operations.
- Ensure proper wiring of facility for machinery and facility layout.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
