Job Description

The Accounting Manager combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards. Provide assistance to manager with external audits. Provide management reporting as requested. Operate with the highest level of confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure daily accounts receivable functions as assigned including daily deposits and ensuring posting of payment timely.

  • Ensure timely collection of Accounts Receivable with team and resolve issues.

  • Ensure timely entry of Accounts Payable and payment of vendors.

  • Month-end closing with team, prepare journal entries as necessary, reconcile assigned accounts and perform internal control checks.

  • Prepare, analyze and report monthly, quarterly Source America information.

  • Perform daily accounting functions as assigned including bank and payroll tax deposits and transfer payments.

  • Assist with cycle count/physical inventories.

  • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts by customer type by division.

  • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.

  • Assist with annual external audits. Complete requested materials for the annual and benefit audits.

  • ERP super user. Assist with testing and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting from accredited university; and three to five years related experience in a similar position.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Accounting Skills
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles. Strong analytical and accounting skills.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook or similar programs. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting and ERP software packages for both general ledger and manufacturing accounting. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central knowledge is preferred.
