These are the qualities Air Wisconsin Airlines is searching for a Maintenance Base Manager to join our Maintenance Department in Milwaukee, WI. We are looking for someone with excellent leadership skills who wants to help develop our Mechanics and Apprentice. At Air Wisconsin, we're passionate about aviation and growth. Operating as a regional airline in the United States, Air Wisconsin Airlines performs flying services for American Airlines as American Eagle throughout the Midwest and East Coast, operating CRJ-200 regional jets. Our exceptional team is dedicated to making our travelers' experiences safe and pleasant.

With general direction and supervision from the Director of Maintenance, responsible for long-term operational forecasting and planning with an emphasis on implementing strategic initiatives to further advance safety, compliance and production rates. Oversees Maintenance Shift Managers to ensure maintenance scheduling and production control functions to provide safe and reliable aircraft in conjunction with a safe and efficient working environment. Plans and maintains assigned budgets for the maintenance facility and operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.
  • Maintains authority and implements a long-term strategy over the assigned base and its resources, to meet operational department goals and objectives.
  • Ensures that procedures outlined in the General Maintenance Manual are followed and executed, and complete and accurate records are maintained.
  • Mentors direct reports (leaders) and ensures all team members throughout the base are adequately trained and maintain proficiency and currency as required of their position.
  • Forecasts the efficient scheduling of personnel and use of assigned resources to provide maximum, effective productivity, to include availability and serviceability of required tooling and equipment.
  • Responsible for maintenance operations including quality control and assurance inspection, avionics, training, stores activities, and aircraft cleaning.
  • Accountable for the assigned maintenance facility operating in compliance with FAA, OSHA, TSA and EPA regulations and Company policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison with internal and external partners to ensure collaborative relationships are maintained.
  • Administers the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and has the authority to settle grievances at the appropriate level within the grievance procedure.
  • Controls and is accountable for the annual budget.
  • Implements improvements and identifies efficiencies based on analysis of various maintenance reports and summaries of performance metrics.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Engineering or equivalent
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
  • 2-4 years' management experience in a union environment in FAR Part 121 Air Carrier operations

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance Management
