ATI is currently looking for an Inprocess Inspector within our Conditioning department at our Monroe, NC facility. As an Inprocess Inspector, you will be an integral part of a team that is responsible for identifying and removing surface defects and measuring products to confirm appropriate sizing tolerances are met to ensure customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will be responsible for visually inspecting the surface of the material using a dye penetrant, marking defects and flaws for grinding, and then removing defects with a hand grinder if required. To be successful, the operator will need to be able to work in a team environment with good communication and attention to detail.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Weigh, band, mark, stamp, tag and identify material after re-grinding
  • Check dimensions and surface quality to meet requirements
  • Ensure compliance with established grinding techniques
  • Detect and report defective material, improper operations, and unusual conditions to proper supervision
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations and keep area clean


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience

Skills:

  • Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, and measuring tapes
  • Ability to read and follow written procedures
  • Ability to lift, hold and operate a (20) pound hand grinder for a substantial period of time
  • Must have passed Respirator Protection screening
  • Required to pass In-depth vision screening
