What you will accomplish as a Field Technician at TAPCO:

The Signal and ITS Sales Manager will be responsible for the leadership, training and development of a technical sales team of inside and outside sales professionals to manage sales and contribution margin growth for TAPCO in the traffic signals and intelligent transportation systems division. This individual will manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the team with specific focus on capital project management and key performance indicators that drive success and consistent sales growth to meet revenue and profitability goals set by the Chief Revenue Officer. Successful candidates will put their employees' success first, have high standards for achievement and have the ability to hold people accountable for world-class sales performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for meeting revenue and contribution targets for TAPCO's Signal and ITS Division through effective management of a team of sales professionals and through execution of TAPCO's marketing strategy.
    • Trains, motivates and develops TAPCO staff in order to meet the current and future needs of the department and the company. Challenges others to develop as leaders, while serving as a role model and mentor.
    • Responsible for coaching to identified sales KPIs and ensuring the TAPCO sales process is being followed and executed effectively by sales team members.
    • Keeps ownership and sales team informed of ongoing sales and market trends through ongoing industry education in the form of webinars, conferences, product training, and hands-on customer interaction.
    • Continuous identification, monitoring and reporting to management team of key performance indicators for sales success.
    • Works with the marketing department to derive and carry out campaigns, trainings, and webinars for key industry verticals to increase TAPCO brand awareness and to grow sales.
    • Locates, trains, manages and sustains contractor relationships to provide end users with a successful project installation experience
    • Responsible for continual process improvement to help streamline the sales process and increase selling time for the sales team.
    • Responsible for escalated phone calls, complaints, and other situations in which a manager has been requested or is needed to ensure customer satisfaction and residual business.
    • Assists with the development and review of policies and procedures for TAPCO products.
    • Maintains discipline, resolves problems, determines performance, and recommends promotions, transfers or dismissals.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Prior related experience within sales leadership
  • Prior experience within the transportation or related industry
