Job Description

General Summary:

The Orthotist Limited should, under limited supervision, provide comprehensive orthotic care. This includes patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, follow-up and practice management.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Under the supervision of an ABC certified (American Board for Certification) orthotist, perform a comprehensive assessment of the patient to obtain an understanding of patient's orthotic needs.

  • Under the supervision of an ABC certified orthotist, creates a comprehensive orthotic treatment plan to meet the needs and goals of the patient.

  • Under the supervision of an ABC certified orthotist, performs the necessary procedures to deliver the appropriate orthotic services, including fabrication.

  • Under the supervision of an ABC certified orthotist, provides continuing patient care periodic evaluation to assure/maintain/document optimal fit and function of the orthosis.

  • Under the supervision of an ABC certified orthotist, completes documentation and billing in a timely fashion using SOAP format.

  • Under the supervision of an ABC certified orthotist updates own knowledge base through attendance at in services and continuing education courses. Secures written orders for all orthotic treatment. Adheres to safety issues.

  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.

  • Completes documentation and billing in a timely fashion using SOAP format.

  • Updates own knowledge base through attendance at in services and continuing education courses. Secures written orders for all fabrications. Adheres to safety issues.

  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Successful graduation from a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education) accredited program.

  • BLS Certification required.

Education

Master's Degree

(BLS) - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
