The American Society for Quality (ASQ) is seeking a
Volunteer Relations Manager to grow ASQ's Community of Members by supporting Chapters in being vital organizations that stimulate member engagement and loyalty.
The primary responsibilities include developing effective partnership with volunteers and helping bridge relations between various Chapter types. The role includes identifying new targets of opportunity and executes strategies to promote growth and development by increasing membership value and retention.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Creates communities, programs, tools and innovative experiences for use at the Chapter level that help meet the needs and retention goals.

Provides input to the Society Strategic and Operating Plans and develops, with member leaders, tactics that deploy the plan at the Chapter level.

Continually evaluate and evolve the Chapter Member Model based on improving member loyalty.

Manages a department to effectively manage and administer goals in a timely, accurate, and effective way.

Participate in the formulation of policies and procedures that result in enhanced performance and productive relationships with Chapters.

Establishes and maintains working relationships with key volunteers such that trust exists, information shared and common goals are achieved.

Requests appropriate research to measure member satisfaction with the Chapters and gathers competitive data and uses fact based decision making to improve results over time.

In concert with Membership Development, assists the Chapters in implementing recruitment and retention programs.

Conducts ASQ events that enhance volunteer interaction and provide an opportunity for member leadership networking and information gathering.
SKILLS
Must be adaptable to ever-changing environments and situation. Strategic and creative thinker with visionary orientation. Demonstrated knowledge of community development. Demonstrate work ethic and communication skills; understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus, and teamwork and partnering skills. Demonstrated capacity for embracing change and learning new technologies. Must possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, presentation management skills and people management skills. Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals and be able to interpret the complex needs of the chapters.
REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree is required (management, business or communications is desirable). Must possess at least 5 years experience in association and management. Specific experience in leadership training initiatives for volunteers and volunteer communication required. Experience with creating virtual, physical and blended Chapter environments desired.
